“The most challenging activities were the group activities. They taught me to work with my team and to really focus on our goals.”
The Franciscan Land-based Summer Experiences for Children and Franciscan Summer Youth Leadership Program held their first sessions this week. In addition to building confidence and leadership through games, attendees learned how to care for the plants and animals at the campus in Meriden. Crafts, sports and campfire activities were also a part of the summer experience. These educational enrichment programs, sponsored in part by the Cuno Foundation and the Ion Bank Foundation, provide cultural, environmental, and leadership opportunities supportive of personal growth and development.
There is yet another week for the children’s program, July 20- 24, 2020.
“This experience was super fun. I got to play lots of games and had to complete challenges. I also learned what makes a great leader and how to be one.”
